not sure about everyone else
but i blog starting with my photos first..
depending on the photos i have, i will write the entry =)
but that's getting abit boring
and these few days, i am sort of writing things out of the blue
so i have some photos lying around in my photobucket waiting to be used..
and also some pictures that i forgot to blog about
admist the excitement when reaching beijing, oops..
hahaha.. have to throw them into this random entry then =D

let's see..
send off at the airport =)
early in the morning of the first day of 2008..
the taxi uncle who drove us there said
"wah so happy arh, go holiday on new year's day!"

really big huh, we have grown from 7 to a strong 10 members
notice how ugly my hair WAS! stupid hairdresser..
luckily it's not like this anymore..
and i conclude that alvin is the tallest! hahaha..
with mr neo and xiang-sao as the runner ups =)
miss you guys..

but i don't have it so i shall leave a space here first..

yea, not that many people
nothing dramatic, 毕竟 it's only half a year
and will be over in the blink of an eye ^^
we're more than half way there already..

爱心早餐 on the day i left..
my favourite breakfast btw, fishball noodles with yummy chilli *drools*
and my parents (no idea who) bought it for me early in the morning
before i even woke up..
i miss it alot!
hahaha, there was a time when the food centre was under renovation
and i didn't eat it for a year too =p
otherwise i eat it almost everyday unless i have like 830 lessons =)
wah! miss the amk centre laksa also!

arriving at the beijing international airport..
the lost me and jasmine trying to spot kaixuan whom we have not seen before
unsure which flight she is on
trying to act tour guide and scribbled on a piece of paper
fiddling with our handphone and finally used the payphone
in the end we found her outside the airport entrance =)

fast forward to last week, hahaa..

with overflowing carrots and potatos but yum.. =)

fried maggie mee by xiao zhuo on sunday morning..

hainanese chicken rice! yum, the rice rox.. =)
with dao gei as well, china dao gei has an irritating bean on top o.O

TOM YAM MEE!!! oh man, got craving for this lo..
thanks to xinwei's tom yam chilli =)
and i bought those 关东煮 thingy from 7-11 too
yum.. ate it twice this week, hahaha.. really miss the tomyam taste =)

visited this malacca food place on tuesday as recommended by kok peng
and i saw my best friend, sambal kangkong!!! wahahaha..
haven't eaten that for so long..
the environment is not bad, very south east asia like and quiet
tucked away in a corner of beijing city..

teh tarik is a must of course..
satay and kangkong and hotplate tofu!!!

malacca's idea of nasi lemak different from ours?
they have curry with 椰浆饭..
but still it was good food!

passing messages and pretending you are on msn
sounds boring enough..
add new people into the conversation then..
not interesting enough?

add in facebook and irc features and kick people around
and better yet, add yourself back into the conversation
and know what is going on during your absence =)

we are DAMN BORED!
and so far i have only listened to one lesson only
which is the one about the Confucius influence and stuff
the rest are just plain boring, or my brain isn't smart enough to digest it
now all sorts of entertainment has started to appear
like PSP and Ipod movies =)
choosing the correct seat is the most important
so that even sleeping is invisible to the lecturer *grins*

and this is xiao chen getting ready for lesson! LMAO..

i hope it never comes *crosses fingers*

Dear BBS,

If you are reading the title with confusion now, it means you haven't heard the story, yet... It is with lots of apologies and guilt that i shall tell the story of the washing machine and the samsung YP-t10...

As you would most probably have guessed, the only possible situation that these 2 objects would come together, other than the new technology of integrating a mp4 player with a washing machine, is that an mp4 player is being thrown INTO the washing machine for a wash... Unfortunately, that is what happened... Thus my sincere apologies to my dearest BBS, i have accidently threw it into the washing machine along with my bedsheets (><)

After a day long of waiting, i tried to switch it on without succeeding.. During which i only dare to inform the dearest six-days-a-week.. Just when i thought it was time to get myself a new PSP as cajoled by xiao chen who is overly enthusiatic over his new PSP, i plugged it into my laptop and the light came on!! I couldn't believe my luck and told the P&P who was online at that time.

幸亏… 大难不死，必有后福。以后我会好好照顾他的 =)

4 drinking sessions in a week..
including the 2 in the last post =p
and almost a fifth one..
not really drinking alcohol but still it's damn expensive

last sunday after dinner, we decided to go again..
this time with xiao cai and xiao chen..
the pub near our house called seven sunday or SOZ
has really comfortable sofas and friendly waiters =)
and we are usually the only customers on weekdays...

it's always good to hear about opinions other than our own
cos we tend to be biased
and build more assumptions based on our previous biases
it's good to look at things from another POV
thanks for the listening and the different views..
i think i felt ok about it after that..
but it didn't last long anyway since more things started to come up
at least now i know how to not bother about it anymore..

and the drinking sessions turned into a habit
that is everytime i reach home, i feel like going out again..
and this lasted for like 4 times until our wallets cannot handle it anymore
HAHAA..
and we resorted to switching off lights and sitting in the living room
after we called it a night, went into the room, lied down on the bed
me and roomie decided it was still not enough..
i have no idea why the feelings hit rock bottom
or was i just feeling influenced by the emo environment
but i just feel like saying things out, the troubles, the insecurities
and so we went out again and walked aimlessly around the apartment area
stood in the wind, hoping that it will wake me up with the coldness
it's such a good experience man, thanks roomie =)

the other day when i logged into my ibanking account
i got the shock of my life..
HAHA, it has almost gone empty
living independently requires more money than i would ever imagine
i've never seen my bank account so empty before =p

anyway peeps!
it's nearing the end of march already..
time flies man, soon i will be in singapore nua-ing at home everyday
and because it is march already, spring is here! =)
no more thick jackets and gloves and scarves!
i can wear what i wear in singapore now!! *cheers*
temperature is around 5 degrees to 10 plus degrees now..

these are shots outside our house, the flowers are so pretty!
the first time i saw it i thought it was fake flowers =)
and living in this kind of apartment makes me feel machiam rich people
and so last night, we went to sit at one of the ting zi
to enjoy this beautiful scenery with the peace, the water flow and breeze wind
and the herbal tea that we all bought, wahaha..

i really love the feeling of staying out at night
not that i can't do it in singapore
i just didn't have the company in the past..
and thus hearting this thing called freedom in the beijing air =)

2 entries in a day!
yah, i am freaking bored..
and i have a report to hand in to my boss tomorrow
and a elog book to hand in on friday
haven't been updating my logbook since week 2
and it's week 10 already!

but i still decided to blog anyway..
the week has been very very happening..
i can't describe how much my feelings went up and down
but i'm glad that i can slowly feel myself integrating into this circle



went out "drinking" with roomie and caihong on thursday
it's a super expensive habit but we just feel like leaving the house
went to a pub near our apartment
roomie and i had mocktail (a new term i picked up ^^)
cos we can't take alcoholic drinks and caihong had beer
started chatting and talking about lots of things
moments of anger, moments of sadness, first impressions =)
it's good to clear the doubts and unhappiness once in a while
and move on from there..
sometimes i just can't bring myself to tell your certain things
like how i was feeling upset the day we were supposed to have ajisen
glad you gals understand =)



and thursday was actually xiao chen's birthday
but we were not supposed to wish him happy birthday
so that our big surprise on saturday can work..
and so on thursday, we had a simple dinner prepared by the guys
had vege, lotus root soup, nuggets and sambal fish =)
after which xiao chen was caught eating ice cream quietly in a corner
which we missed seeing cos we were out drinking, haha..
he must be thinking how sad it is that no one celebrated his birthday for him
hahaa.. unknown to him is an evil plan in progress =D

on saturday, everyone expressed their "cravings for western food"
and decided to come over to our place for dinner
and the plan went on smoothly..

after school, some of them went to buy ingredients for the meal
while slacker me, roomie and caihong went home
after awhile, the birthday boy came back with xiao zhuo
feeling restless around the house
we decided to go drinking again, hahaha..
and so we went out =)
this time to another cafe near our house..
it was 三八妇女节 and so we got free red wine each!
but it tastes super sucky..

after a round of drinks and more talking, we headed home
and the cooking has only just begun..
first up is jasmine and her 拿手 dish, spaghetti =)
after which alvin fried the french fries
and jieru prepared the chicken cutlet along with the haidian girls
we din realise how long we took until it was 1030pm
and we still haven't started our dinner, lol..

it is on the floor because firstly, our table is not big enough
and secondly because the newspaper has to be in place for xiao chen's doom
*evil smile*
after all the food was done
everyone gathered on the floor and started feasting! =)

it's call 笑里藏刀 for everyone except xiao chen
cos he's the only oblivious one in the photo..
and so halfway through the dinner
roomie, the appointed cake-collector left the circle
and pretended to go to the washroom
but in fact, she left the house to go collect the cake via the guys' room
WAHAHA..
one thing good is that the bakery here opens till 12 midnight
and so after around 10 minutes
the lights were switched off and the cake appeared
it is satisfaction of seeing xiao chen being really shocked =D
because he has no idea we have any idea about his birthday
and i almost gave it away on so many occasions according to xiao cai
but blur xiao chen totally has no idea
thus the eating ice cream in a corner incident *pats pats*



the peaceful birthday song singing and cake eating
before the real storm occurs.. heeheee..
after everyone ate and fed xiao chen the cake
alvin gave the signal and everyone got ready in their appointed role

in no less than 10 seconds, xiao chen was pinned down by us
and the biggest effort goes to xiao zhuo who sat on him
and immediately tied xiao chen up using xiao chen's scotch tape
after which xiao chen gave up struggling and offered his hands as well
and because my blog is rated to be PG and not even NC16
the most i can show is this picture, hahaha..

and after this photo
we proceeded to record xiao chen's disclaimer stating that he is a willing party
and then the games began =)
in short, we drew tic tac toe, practised ABC and make up
plucked hairs, mixed a drink made of soy sauce and coke, poured honey
and lastly presented him with our signature to end this tiring night..

i find this picture so amusing
that everyone was looking on with such a happy expression on our faces
and realise who's not in this picture..
our beloved xiao zhuo! what are you doing to xiao chen!!
stop acting innocent, we caught you on photos =)



and after we realised xiao chen for his cleaning up
we had to clean up the house and destroy evidence of everything of course
what a tiring birthday celebration..
but it's so fuN! we should do this more often XD

oh well, stayed up all the way till 6 in the morning chit chatting
and woke up at 1pm in search of my cloth at 木樨园
i felt so cheated..
all they have are curtain clothes that looks damn expensive and ugly
ended sitting in macs for the whole afternoon
and the rest will be in the next post =)

ja ne!!

life in an unfamiliar place is so refreshing
and we got used to it
the road to work, the bus to take comes so naturally
there are plenty of times we feel pure happiness and shiawase
and in return we have to experience frustration as well
after which frustration teaches us a lesson
communication makes the world go round

it's so easy to receive loneliness and tears
yet so difficult to achieve consensus and understanding
so easy to discover your feelings
yet so difficult to acknowledge its existence
what are the weird feelings, i do not wish to probe
maybe it is not that i will not dream
perhaps continuing to dream and yet not hope is the way

it's amazing how happiness stays
when brother and sister bought me in friends for sale
when a simple sms question rings my phone
when evaporated milk is restocked in walmart
when someone misses me 6 hours across the world
when i feel friendship slowly growing in me
